Richard Masters 'AERIAL CLASSIC' 4'', MINT/UNUSED Super Scarce. Richard Masters was a high quality, very low volume maker who ceased making in 2012.
The 'Classic' is based on the 1920's Allcock Aerial Model 7950-T2. Beautifully crafted in 'antiqued' finish incorporating finest quality materials. Medium width (1'' between the plates) with removable alloy Bickerdyke style lineguard, brass stancheon foot. Ventilated front flange (8 large holes) with 6 spokes, two incorporating spool release clip and knurled wheel tension regulator, attractive slim & elegant horn 'butterscotch' handles and polished rim. Alloy backplate with brass optional check button operating a copper caliper check with brass receiving clip and tungsten check pawl. Inside of back flange engraved by maker '004' & '05/98' indicated reel number and production date.
A very practical size for trotting and general use, a tip top quality reel in MINT UNUSED condition. The overall quality compares favourably with the very best modern centrepins. Examples of this top maker's work are keenly sought and hardly ever available.
