W. R. Products 'SPEEDIA' Mk2, 4'', Narrow drum c. 1953/4 INCREDIBLE FIND, BOXED MINT/UNUSED, untouched condition, original wrapping paper.
The Mk2 SPEEDIA was introduced in 1949 and production ran until 1954, the main universal difference from the Mk1 being riveted handles replacing the screw fixing on the earlier model. During the production run of Mk2's the foot changed from brass to painted aluminium and the 'V' spring check wire from round profile wire to flat metal strip. This absolutely wonderful example exhibits both the later changes dating it toward the end of production in 1954. Narrow drum with trademark attractive waisted orange bakelite handles, all aluminium back and ventilated front flange with aluminium centre boss and quick spool release clip, 10 steel line lays. Aluminium rim mounted check lever.
