Lloyd Gladstone Gough, Reel Number 6, 6'' UNIQUE, MINT. STUNNING and Exceptionally collectible.

Lloyd Gladstone Gough was a Hampshire Avon angler of some considerable repute specialising in long trotting. He was also an Engineering Officer at the Signals Research & Development Establishment, Christchurch and was awarded the British Empire Medal in the 1969 New Years Honours list.

When the high quality 'Creel' magazine launched in 1964 their mission was to employ the very best writers and Mr. Gough was commissioned to write a series of 6 articles on The Avon. These covered many aspects of fishing this river and one was devoted entirely to the design & construction of this reel. At the time there was naturally a clamour for them to be made for sale but he wasn't interested in commercial production and made solely for himself and friends, making only 6 reels in his lifetime. This is the last and the only 6'' variant. In Mint, lightly used condition it represents a significant piece of angling history and opportunities to purchase one of these 6 reels are obviously extremely unlikely to arise.
