Walnut 'Nottingham' style Starback centrepin, 5'', c. 1895, In lovely, really excellent condition. Figured walnut, the front flange with free turning attractive dome shaped horn handles on circular brass seats, the back flange with curved edge and slim elegant brass starback very much in the style of David Slater the probable maker*. Free running on steel centrepin. Excellent condition and unusually for a reel of this age, with no visible faults or damage
* David Slater produced reels for a large number of different retailers, the vast majority of which did not bear the 'Slater' name as it was left for the retailer to add their own. Many bore no name/identification at all.
