Of triangular form, bespoke made to the highest specification for Peter “Isaac” Wheat revered angler/author ('The Fighting Barbel' etc.) and leading GOLDEN SCALE CLUB member (“Isaac” is his adopted GSC name). Shaun Linsley's work is universally recognised as being of the highest standard. The pole is substantial whole cane, 6ft with bespoke hand made brass end button and top ferrule both SILK whipped in black with contrasting crimson tipping and matching broad intermediate whippings along the length for relief, finished with multiple coats of quality varnish to achieve a high gloss finish. The engineered bespoke hand-forged brass Tri-spreader plate is robust with threaded mount to accommodate the pole and two forward spurs designed to snugly accommodate the two 30'' tapering built cane 'V' arms both finished to a high gloss to match pole. A strong green cord spanning the front of these two built cane arms completes the triangle shape to which a new soft mesh net is fitted. The pole is inscibed in Indian ink, hand written in fine italic script and reads,

These final three words form the motto, in Latin, of the famed GOLDEN SCALE CLUB and is an abbreviation of the longer quotation by Roman poet OVID (Pubilis Ovidus Naso b.43BC, a Roman poet who lived during the reign of Augustus and is considered one of the greats of Latin literature) 'Casus Ubique Valet semper tibi pendeat hamus. Que minime credas gurgite piscis erit' which broadly translates to 'There is scope for chance everywhere. Let your hook always be cast; in the eddies, where you least expect it, there will be a fish'.
