Allcock COXON AERIAL model 4104-T1 (1896-1905), 4 ½'' wide drum (1 1/8''between the plates), The earliest and rarest COXON (without tension regulatior) in really excellent all round condition with 6 spoke ebonite front flange with sprung quick release spool catch, slim tapered ebonite handles, ebonite rear flange, very attractive figured walnut backplate with unmarked rims indicating very light use, brass star back, integral undamaged brass foot, brass knurled edge check button operating 'see through' copper caliper check. Showing signs of only very light use.
Astonishingly Allcock guaranteed the Aerial 'without time limit' and true to this staggering claim this reel (c120 years old) runs and works perfectly like the day it was made. A classic early Coxon and a rare find in this condition.
