BRUCE & WALKER CTM 14A MINT looks unused

Not in stock

B.JAMES & SON, in association with Bruce & Walker, MINT CTM 14A 3 piece 14ft. Hand built hollow glass river rod. 1969. In MINT condition (looks unused) with intact delivery plastic covering to extra long (30'') cork handle. Brown hollow glass with wine silk whippings, integral glass spigot ferrules with built-in cork inserts, B. James trademark amberfin agatine lined butt and matching fine elegant tip ring, stand off high bells intermediates. A lightweight rod described by the very well respected maker thus: 'A unique method of construction keeps the weight down to an absolute minimum so it can be fished all day without fatigue.'

This example, with original agatine butt and tip lined rings, is unusual as the maker's details describe the CTM series as having hard ceramic lined butt and tip. Introduced in 1969, this example is believed to be an early production made during the 'crossover' period when B. James was fully absorbed into 'Bruce & Walker' (c.1968-70) and existing stocks of amberfin lined rings were being used up. The brown canvas bag with an embroidered 'Bruce & Walker' label is further evidence of this being one of the first examples produced as it was soon replaced by the more familiar blue bag. An exceptional and unreapeatable find in this MINT condition and very attractively priced £85
