Albert Smith & Co. 'THE MAJESTIC' 13 ½ ft. From the maker's 'Very Superior Match Rods' range which were the most expensive in his extensive catalogue. Made C.1938 and in really lovely all original completely unmolested condition. 

 

Four joint - the bottom three in "light, tough, rich brown colour cane" , the top in "our best quality SPLIT CANE giving a remarkably Quick Strike"The maker describes it as being for "general bottom fishing" adding, "Make Perfect Trout and Grayling rods". It is fitted with lovely agate-lined butt & tip rings with low cradle lightweight intermediates, quality brass spigot ferrules, sliding brass reel bands on a cork handle with discreet brass collar, brass butt cap finely engraved with makers name and address details and black rubber button. Presented in maker's original four section good quality cloth bag with brass stud fastenings. Relatively light at 15oz., 

 

In excellent condition given it's 80 year life, with just a slight downward droop to the tip. Will be supplied with a photocopy from the makers 1937/8 catalogue giving full description A quality rod from a very well respected Redditch maker, a usable and interesting piece of angling history and a remarkable find in this all original condition.
