RICHARD CARTER AERIAL POPULAR for Kingfishers of Stowe

Not in stock

RICHARD CARTER AERIAL POPULAR 4” for "Kingfishers of Stow". MINT as NEW. Only six 'Popular' reels inscribed on the back 'Kingfisher Popular' were made by Richard Carter for Kingfishers, a short lived traditional tackle shop run by Simon Legge, and only three were sold through the shop. The remaining three were sold off to an individual after the shop closed. It is believed only two of the six were fitted with lineguards and this example is one of them. Made in the mid-1990s and believed unsused, it is fitted with ivorine handles and has a slight 'antique' finish. It is presented in the makers original box which, because of the Kingfisher connection, is plain black without the 'Carter' sticker. A really lovely centre pin reel, ideal for trotting, desirable and very rare.
